The application fields of EVA are quite extensive. The annual market consumption in China is constantly increasing. Especially in the footwear industry, it is used in the soles and interior materials of mid-to-high-end travel shoes, hiking shoes, slippers and sandals. It is also widely used in the new energy field, such as photovoltaic materials and solar cell adhesives. The following are the common application fields of EVA. 

Foamed shoe materials 

Footwear materials are the most important application field of EVA resin in China. In the EVA resin used for footwear materials, the content of vinyl acetate is generally between 15% and 22%. Due to the properties of EVA resin blend foamed products such as softness, good elasticity and resistance to chemical corrosion, they are widely used in the soles and interior materials of medium and high-end travel shoes, hiking shoes, slippers and sandals. In addition, this material is also used in sound insulation boards, gymnastic mats and sealing materials. 

2. Film

The main application of EVA film is in the production of functional greenhouse films. Functional greenhouse films have high weather resistance, anti-fogging and heat preservation performance. Since polyethylene is non-polar, even if a certain amount of anti-fogging agent is added, its anti-fogging performance can only last for about two months. However, the greenhouse film made by adding a certain amount of EVA resin not only has a high light transmittance but also has a significantly improved anti-fogging performance, which can generally last for more than four months. In addition, EVA can also be used to produce packaging films, medical films, laminated films, casting films, etc. 

3. Wires and Cables

With the continuous development of computer and network engineering, for the sake of safety in computer rooms, people are increasingly using halogen-free flame-retardant cables and silane cross-linked cables. Due to the good filler compatibility and cross-linkability of EVA resin, it is widely used in halogen-free flame-retardant cables, semiconductor shielded cables and two-step silane cross-linked cables. In addition, EVA resin is also applied in the production of some special cable sheaths. The content of vinyl acetate in EVA resin used in wires and cables is generally between 12% and 24%. 

4. Toys

EVA resin is also widely used in toys, such as wheels and seat cushions for children's strollers. 

5. Hot melt adhesive

Hot melt adhesive mainly composed of EVA resin, due to its solvent-free nature, it does not pollute the environment and is relatively safe. It is highly suitable for automated assembly lines and thus is widely used in book perfect binding, furniture edge banding, assembly of automobiles and household appliances, shoemaking, carpet coating, and anti-corrosion coating of metals. 

6. Others

EVA resin is also widely used in fields such as inks, luggage, and bottle stoppers. It is estimated that the consumption of EVA resin in these areas is no less than 15,000 tons.
